Spring and Summer 2022

Hello.  Quite the spring and summer for us...

This spring, we were able to see Andrew run some outdoor races.  We saw him run at Colonial Relays and at James Madison.  Below are some pictures.  His primary event was the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.

Andrew had the opportunity to compete in the SOCON Championships in Alabama.  The official photographer caught this picture.....a keeper for sure.

Abby was a trooper and we made family trips out of seeing Andrew compete.

Abby wrapped up a good year of 6th grade.  She did well and enjoyed her first year of middle school.  She had an end of the year concert.  It was fun to see her play the Cello in the concert.

Abby spent time running and doing Peloton workouts in her spare time.....she got in really good shape.

Andrew finished up his second year as a 3rd at VMI.  He has a successful semester.  He was selected to receive the rank of Sgt for the 2022-2023 school year.  He had to interview and be selected....he was happy to be selected.

Andrew also received an award for being one of the top ROTC cadets and for his overall standing and the end of the year awards banquet..  It was a fantastic honor.  I was able to attend and then help him move home.

Andrew spent most of his summer working at UPS in Gettysburg in the evenings and running to train for the upcoming XC season.

Madi spent most of the spring working for the Center Square in California, and getting ready for the wedding.  We go to see her a few times.  She had her shower here in Gettysburg.  Clark opened the gifts in California....Rebekah and Madi spent alot of time preparing a great event.

Abby started off the summer with her normal, jump in the pool the first day....it was cold.

Rebekah and I were able to get away with a great group of friends to the Finger Lakes in NY, to celebrate Dan's birthday.  It was a great time for us and for all.

And then....THE BIG EVENT!!!  Madi's wedding.  Alot of work by Rebekah, Madi, and both families.  It turned out to be a great event!!  So happy for Madi and happy to add Clark to our family.  Can't do it justice here.....here were some pics that were released early.....and just before publishing, we got the link to all of the pics if interested.

They went on an amazing honeymoon to Europe.  Cannot do it justice here.....search and follow Madi Minges on social to see some amazing pictures and adventures from London, Greece, and Rome.

We were also able to get away to Myrtle Beach, one of our favorite places.  We did many days at the beach and our favorite places.

Rebekah and I went out to eat while the kids went mini golfing to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary on July 5th....it was a great time and view.

Abby competed in a summer swim season.  She worked hard and saw alot of improvement - which was fun to watch.  She swam at divisionals, and made it to all-stars in the 50 free, and as an alternate in the 100 IM.  Her relay, and friends, qualified for the next weekend called Mid Caps.....a very successful and fun season.

We did sneak for a last minute trip to Hershey Park with Abby and a friend.  It was a good trip.  They rode all the big roller coasters.

I worked most of the summer at the Pentagon as part of military position.  It made for a busy summer, but, I enjoyed it.  Rebekah worked her Mary Kay business, she celebrated 20 years as a director this summer.

Andrew will head back to VMI to begin his 3rd year ( now, a 2nd ).  He will continue to compete in Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor track.  We hope to see some of his cross country meets. There are many exciting events this year for him.

Abby will go to 7th grade.  She is going to try out Middle School Cross Country.  We are excited for her to have another great year.

Here is the traditional first day of school picture.

A busy spring and summer for us!!!  Feel Blessed.  Hope your spring and summer was fantastic and wishing you a good end of summer and fall....until next time....
