Spring 2019

Hello

It was a busy spring for us again.

Madi had a successful second semester.  In addition to her course work, she got involved with LFSN, the Liberty Sports Sports Network.  She was named an co-editor for the paper next year. She was also awarded a DC fellowship for next spring.  Both of these were goals when she decided to go to Liberty.  Here are some pictures from her semester.

Madi turned 20 in May!  Madi, Abby, and I went on a hike to Cunningham Falls.  We had a dinner with family at home.

Madi got an internship at the Gettysburg Times for the summer.  It is off to a good start.  She has had some great opportunities to interview, investigate, and help produce articles.  She has already been published a few times.

Andrew finsihed his semester well.  After he finished his basketball season, we took some college visits and met with cross country coaches.  We went to Cedarville University first.  It was a nice visit.

We also had a good visit to Shippensburg University.

Most of his spring focused on running track.  He had a successful season.  He was hoping to run times that allowed him to run at the District level, but still was the top runner in the area and won events at the Adams County Invitational and the Artic Blast invitational and also medaled in his events at the York-Adams County Championships.

Here are some pictures of the season.

Andrew was recognized for an award at school.  We were able to attend the breakfast with him

This summer, Andrew will be taking his extrance exams again, making college visits, and starting applications.  He also is attending a National Security Conference through George Mason U at University of Md.

He will also be running and preparing for this cross country season which will include a week at Cross Country Camp at Shippensburg University.

Abby had a busy spring.  She was involved at Awana at church, swimming at the Y, and making slime.

We did get out skiing early on during one of our snow days.

Everyone was home for Easter.  We had lunch at my parents house followed by the traditional easter egg hunt.

Abby has already started her summer swim season.  She works up an appetite and we have already made stops at Mr G's after.

Abby will be swimming this summer.  She was able to make her traditional first day swim at the pool on Memorial Day weekend.  The cold doesn't bother her....

We hope to do a little running and lots of bike riding and swimming for fun at the pool.

In March, I turned 50.  Rebekah arranged tickets and trip to NYC to see Seinfeld live.  Our friends went with us.  It was a great time and a great memory.

As a family, we are planning on our usual Williamsburg vacation in June, our niece's wedding end of June, and some college visits with Andrew.  I have some military stuff to do and Rebekah and Madi will be headed to Dallas for Mary Kay.

Busy summer ahead.  Wishing you a good summer....

Christmas and Abby's 9th Birthday

Hello.

We had a very good holiday season.

Madi finished up a good semester at school.  It was good to have her home.  Andrew and Abby enjoyed spending time with her.

We had some family pictures taken that never made it into a Christmas card. So, I will post them here.

Abby received an award at school before Christmas break, the Whale Done of the Month, for character.  Madi and I went to her ceremony.

We spent time with family.  Rebekah's brother Trevor and his family, Lori and Stephanie, came to visit.

The cousins on my side got together with for a picture over Thanksgiving.  We spent time with them over the holiday as well.

The gift run down goes like this.  Madi got mostly clothes, Andrew got a few xbox games and clothes, Abby got alot of LOL Surprise dolls, an American Girl doll kitchen, and  slime stuff.

We also spent time on over the Holiday and most of January watching Andrew play basketball.  Always enjoyable.  Tough to get pics, but here is his individual photo.

Rebekah and Madi took a trip to NYC over break and had a great time.

Abby participated in her first swim meet at the YWCA in January.  She got a 1st place in 25 free, and a second and third place in her other events.  A fun start.

Abby also turned 9!!  We had a kid party were the focus was slime, of course.  Abby is a real expert and led the group to perfect results.  She had a good time with her friends.

Madi took her for a sister evening before she left for her birthday.  They went roller skating, went to Hoss's, and went to Target....Abby's favorite places.

We also celebrated with family.  She received another American Girl doll and more LOL doll gifts.

This Spring, Madi will be wrapping up her second year of college.  Andrew will be finishing up basketball and then beginning to prepare for track.  Abby will keep up with swimming practice through the end of Feb.

Wishing you a good end to Winter and start to spring.....
