Christmas and Abby's 9th Birthday

Hello.

We had a very good holiday season.

Madi finished up a good semester at school.  It was good to have her home.  Andrew and Abby enjoyed spending time with her.

We had some family pictures taken that never made it into a Christmas card. So, I will post them here.

Abby received an award at school before Christmas break, the Whale Done of the Month, for character.  Madi and I went to her ceremony.

We spent time with family.  Rebekah's brother Trevor and his family, Lori and Stephanie, came to visit.

The cousins on my side got together with for a picture over Thanksgiving.  We spent time with them over the holiday as well.

The gift run down goes like this.  Madi got mostly clothes, Andrew got a few xbox games and clothes, Abby got alot of LOL Surprise dolls, an American Girl doll kitchen, and  slime stuff.

We also spent time on over the Holiday and most of January watching Andrew play basketball.  Always enjoyable.  Tough to get pics, but here is his individual photo.

Rebekah and Madi took a trip to NYC over break and had a great time.

Abby participated in her first swim meet at the YWCA in January.  She got a 1st place in 25 free, and a second and third place in her other events.  A fun start.

Abby also turned 9!!  We had a kid party were the focus was slime, of course.  Abby is a real expert and led the group to perfect results.  She had a good time with her friends.

Madi took her for a sister evening before she left for her birthday.  They went roller skating, went to Hoss's, and went to Target....Abby's favorite places.

We also celebrated with family.  She received another American Girl doll and more LOL doll gifts.

This Spring, Madi will be wrapping up her second year of college.  Andrew will be finishing up basketball and then beginning to prepare for track.  Abby will keep up with swimming practice through the end of Feb.

Wishing you a good end to Winter and start to spring.....

Fall 2018

Hello.

Another busy Fall season for us.

Madi had a good first semester at Liberty as a second year student.  She began to really get started in her journalism major and practicum.  She as able to be published multiple times.  She also continued to be involved on campus and exploring the Lynchburg area.  Here are some pics of her semester.

She came home a few times.  On her way home from fall break, we went on a hike as a family in Catoctin, MD.

Andrew and Abby had a good start to their school years.  Here are their school pictures from the beginning of the year.

He also had a very good cross country season.  He was able to be a top runner in the local area and in the league.  He medaled at the District 3 AAA meet and qualified for the State AAA Championships. It was awesome to watch.  Here are some pics of the season and his traditional meets.

Andrew started basketball in mid-Nov.  We decided to run one more race in NYC at
Van Courtland Park over Thanksgiving at the Foot Locker Northeast Regional race.  He ran with his Chambersburg summer training partner and close season competitor. It was a fun experience.

Andrew was inducted into the National Honor Society in late October.  It was a big honor as a junior.

Abby had a good fall.  She has started off 3rd grade well.  In addition to making lots of slime in "Abby Shack" (her space in the basement for slime), she spent time at Awana at church, at Andrew's xc meets, and also started swimming at the Y.

Abby and I went hiking to Cunningham Falls.  We had a few small falls and wet feet, but we made it to the top.

Abby planned and was very excited about Halloween. She dressed as Mal from Descendents. She was hampered a litte with her orthodontic quadhelix appliance, but was able to gather chocolate candy she could eat.  A tradition continues.

Andrew went to CFAW at Liberty University in early Nov.  He had a good time.  He went to classes, stayed in the dorm for 2 nights, went to UVA-Liberty Football game at UVA, and got to visit with Madi.  We headed down for the weekend as well and hung out around campus. Here are some pics.

We did get a freak snow storm the week before Thanksgiving.  It stuck around for a few days.  Just added to the wacky 2018 weather.  A picture of Abby to commemorate.

We had a good Thanksgiving.  Madi was home for a week.  After Thanksgiving, Madi will head back to finish her semester, Andrew will continue with school and varsity basketball, and Abby will coninue with school, swimming, and AWANA at church.

Until next time.......
