Spring 2018

Hello.

A busy spring as always.  The weather was very cold and rainy for most of it, but turned nicer by the end here in PA.

Madi finished her first year at Liberty University.  She has grown to love it there and looks forward to continuing there next spring.

We did go down to visit her during the spring for a weekend.

Rebekah and Abby did take advantage of an offer from Madi's roomates's family to come down for a few days to visit in Orlando for spring break.  It was a neat experience for all.

We celebrated her birthday the weekend she got home from school.  We ate at one of her favorite local restaurants, Montezuma's.

Andrew had a very good spring at school and athletically.  He earned his varsity letter for basketball at the end of the year banquet and looks forward to playing next year.

His Soph track season went very well.  The weather was cold, rainy, and poor for most of the season.  He continued to improve throughout the season.  He earned some honors during the year and ended up forth at the league meet and the top area miler at the end of the season.

A couple action shots....

He had the cool opportunity to run the Distance Medley (1600 leg) with three Seniors who broke the school record.

Abby had a good year finishing out 2nd grade.  She was a slowed down a little by a dislocating knee cap.  We got it evaluated and went to PT.  We have a plan for her activities.  She has gotten used to wearing a knee brace for recess and other activities.  She kept herself very busy with Awana, Andrew's events, and playing around the house.

She did take to making slime.....alot of it.  Miss Linda even helped.

On Memorial Day weekend, we took our annual pilgrimage to the pool for the first day. It was hot so that helped.  Abby took her first jump for the summer.

Abby and I walked in the annual memorial day parade in Gettysburg.  Abby was dressed for the occasion.

This summer, we will take our annual vacation to Williamsburg, VA in June. Madi will be working at the Outlets, babysitting, and doing Mary Kay.  Andrew will be focused on preparing for Cross Country and Basketball seasons.  He may also get a job locally.  Abby is looking forward to the pool and her summer activities....mainly biking, and maybe some running...

Hope you have a good summer, look for another post at the end of the summer.....until then!

Holidays 2017 and Abby's 8th Birthday January 2018

We had a good end to our fall and holiday season.

Thanksgiving was a good time with family.  Madi was home.  We attempted to get pictures for a Christmas card, but our photo skills and the sun didn't help produce pics we wanted to use for a card.  But, still not too bad, so I will share them here.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, Madi was home again to go with Rebekah to NYC so see her picture on the jumbotron at Times square.  It was cool, and a made for a nice trip.

Andrew started basketball in November.  He is a starter on the JV team and leading scorer.  He earned his way to sit varsity.  He gets minutes here and there.  He has made the most of his varsity time hitting shots when they come around.  Hard to get pics.  Here is his photo from team picture day.

Abby continued with basic gymnastics at the Y.  She had an open gym and we were able to take some pictures.  She will began intermediate gymnastics in January.

Our Christmas was good.  Uncle Trevor, Aunt Lori, and Cousin Stephanie were here from GA for 5 days.  We had a good time seeing them.  Andrew, Abby, and Stephanie tried the MK mask one night during game time.

We had our traditional Christmas.  Rebekah and Madi were part of the worship team for Christmas Eve service.  We had breakfast at home and opened some gifts.  We had lunch at my brother's house, and then we had dinner with my in-laws.

Abby's Christmas gifts were mainly associated with American Girl, hatchimals, and Shopkins.

Andrew mainly got Xbox games, some clothes, and an Ancestry Kit.

Madi mostly got clothes and accessories.

Madi was home for a month, but had to leave before Abby's birthday.  She was a good sister and took her skating for the first time and then took her out to dinner before she left.  Abby did well skating the first time.

We had an unexpected snow day on a school day Wednesday before Madi went back.  Abby, Madi, and I took advantage of it and went skiing.  Both of the kids had fun and improved alot in 4 hours....Andrew had basketball practice.

Andrew finished his driving requirements and got his license exactly 6 months after his birthday and getting his permit.  He made his maiden voyage to basketball practice the next day.

Finally, Abby's 8th birthday.  We had a gathering at the house for her with family.  Her biggest gift was an American Girl Doll.  She also received many Happy Places sets that she likes to play with.  She chose Pizza Hut pizza and an oreo ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.  It was a great evening.

She had some friends over for her birthday the next day.  Her theme was from the Disney's Denscendents.  She helped chose decorations and activities.  Fun.

This Spring, Andrew will be getting ready for his track season, Abby will continue with gymnastics at the Y, and Madi will be completing her freshman year of college.  Wishing you a good Spring season.....until next time....
