Summer 2015

We started off summer with an awesome trip to Disney with my brother's family and my parents.

It was Abby's first plane ride. She loved it.

We went to all the Disney Parks and to both water parks.  It was great, but very hot as shown below.

Magic Kingdom was the first stop.

Abby and Madi bought Minnie Mouse ears right away.

Abby love the movie Frozen, so seeing Anna and Elsa was a priority.  It was a good time to be there because the parks were celebrating Frozen.

Andrew enjoyed a steady diet of funnel cakes for lunches at the parks. Must have had some condensation on the lens....but you get the picture.

Madi rode many of the rides at the parks with her cousins Meghan and Lauren.

Madi and Abby both held a baby alligator at the resort...not something you do every day.

Here are pics of the kids around the parks, and Sea World.  It was a vacation that we will all remember for a long time.

Abby started gymnastics at the Y after begging for months and after soccer ended.  She loves it.  She "practices" at home by doing flips on the trampoline, flips into the pool, and tumbling and rolling all over the house.  Here are some pictures of her at her class.

Abby also had a busy summer at the pool.  We went often and she enjoyed swimming, jumping off the side and diving board,  as well as going down the slide.

In addition to logging many hours of permit driving in the car, Madi raised support and had the opportunity to go on a missions trip with Word of Life to the Dominican Republic. We drove her to Schroon Lake NY for training.  She gathered the group for a team picture with her selfie stick her first night.

She had an awesome time and it was a great experience.  Here are some pictures she took while she was in the DR. She attended a week of training and then a week of work setting up the camp for local campers, then a week of assisting at the camp and being a witness to the campers.  It was alot of work and trying at times, but a great experience and very rewarding.  She did get a day to see the local area which was fun and interesting.

Andrew had a good summer.  He ran, lifted, swam, play airsoft, and played Xbox at home.  He played in a basketball summer league and attended two basketball camps.  He has grown taller this year and it shows. Here are a couple of pics from a shooting camp he attended.

Andrew and I went golfing two times this summer.  We hit some good shots and bad shots but had a a good time.  He liked driving the cart most.

He also celebrated his 14th birthday in July.  He had a gathering of neighborhood friends for pizza and a movie.  They went to see Ant Man.  It was a good time.

Rebekah earned her 9th car, her 6th pink Cadillac.  It is always fun to trade in the old Caddy for a new one.

We celebrated our 18th Wedding Anniversary in July.  We stayed a night in Albany after dropping Madi at Word of Life.  We did some shopping and ate at the Melting Pot there.  It was a good time.

We were able to visit with Rebekah's brother and family in Northern Georgia (Chattanooga TN area) for a week in August.  Rebekah grew up there and it was great to visit.  We went to the Chickamauga battle field and dam.  We swam one day there.

We visited an original Krispy Kreme when the light was on.  Awesome donuts!

Abby was also brave and went off a high dive in TN.  Cool video.

On the way home, we stopped in VA to attend a picnic at the Dunn's. We also visited Liberty University with Madi (Thanks Michael).  Andrew was the driver of the 4 wheeler's at the Dunn's and gave us all rides.

Well, it was a great summer.  School has begun.  Madi starts her junior year, Andrew his 8th grade year, and Abby begins kindergarten!!  Madi will play field hockey, Andrew is running cross country, and Abby will continue in gymnastics at the Y.

Our annual first day of school pictures...Abby got one coming off the bus for her first day of Kindergarten.

Hope you had a great summer and wishing you a great start to your fall.
